Regarding Donation Offers to Victims in Japan after the Earthquake and Tsunami


The Embassy of Japan would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all who have expressed sympathy for those suffering from the devastating earthquake and tsunami. The Embassy of Japan in Timor-Leste is truly grateful for all of the support and solidarity expressed.


(1) For the monetary donations from private citizens, we would like to announce that donations are being accepted by the Japanese Red Cross Society as below:

(2) The Embassy also established a special account as below for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami.  The pooled monetary donations will be transferred to the Japanese Red Cross Society at the above account:

(3) If you wish to bring your monetary donation in person to the Embassy, we will accept it and the pooled donations will also be transferred to the Japanese Red Cross Society at the above account.

(4) As for the material goods such as blankets and clothing, the Embassy is unable to accept them as there is currently difficulty managing the distribution of these types of donations.
