Ambassador KIMURA stated, “It is important for the Government of Japan that everyone around the world can lead a safe and secure life. Access to basic health service is one of the indispensable elements to this end. That is why Japan has provided funds to build 16 health facilities in Timor-Leste under GGP, or Grassroots Grant Projects, 14 of which have already been completed. This health post is one of the 14 projects that have been completed successfully.”
Since the first project was launched in 2000, 132 projects have been implemented under the GGP scheme in all 14 Municipalities of Timor-Leste. The projects mainly provide assistance to community infrastructure, including construction and rehabilitation of school facilities, public clinics, and water supply systems, addressing various basic human needs at the grassroots level.
