Job Vacancy Announcement: Program Coordinator for GGP

The Embassy of Japan in Timor-Leste is now seeking for a Program Coordinator (Timorese national) of Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP)*.
*GGP (Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects) was established to assist NGOs and local public authorities in developing countries in responding to various development needs in a prompt and complete manner. Please also visit:

1. Requirements
(1) Excellent ability in Tetum and English (writing, negotiating, listening).
(2) A bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a related field.
(3) Good communication and interactive skills for dealing with communities in rural areas.
(4) Knowledge of rural assistance and development activities.
(5) Experience on field  research and analysis  .
(6) Good computer skill (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point etc.).
(7) Working experience over 3 years as full-time (preferably).
(8) Not holding a concurrent post at other development assistance organization/group, if employed. 

2. About the Position
(1) Job Title:
Program Coordinator for GGP in the Economic and Development Cooperation Section, the Embassy of Japan in Timor-Leste.
*Please note that the individual who occupies this position is considered as a contractor, not as an employee of the Embassy.

(2) Expected date of contract:
August, 2020

(3) Duration of contract:
This position is on yearly contract base, and it can be renewed up to 3 years (maximum).

(4) Job Description:
- Formation of  GGP projects with survey and coordination.
- Managing and monitoring ongoing GGP projects.
- Following-up GGP projects implemented in the past.
