Japanese Speech Contest 2018

• ​For 4 mins or less
• No specific theme (Candidates can choose a topic and express their own opinion on the topic in Japanese)
• No group presentation allowed
• Present without looking at notes (presentation with reading notes will effect on your evaluation of your speech)
• Q and A session after the presentation will also be evaluated

​     Qualifications
​     [Common requirement for both Beginners and Intermediates]

• Non-Japanese native speakers who reside in Timor-Leste
• Less than 2 years experience of stay in Japan
• Age: 17 above

     - Beginner Level

• Less than 2 years Japanese learning experience

     - Intermediate Level

• Not less than 2 years Japanese learning experience

• Two years or longer stay in Japan
• Non-native Japanese speakers reside in Timor-Leste

4. Entry procedure and Submission Deadline
​     Submit the following to Embassy of Japan in Timor-Leste

1. ​Entry form (can be downloaded from here)
2. Speech manuscript in Japanese (A4 size, 1 to 2 pages)
3. English (preferred) or Tetun translation of the manuscript

     * Note: Students who study Japanese at UNTL or Sta. Rafaela East Timor Funds should consult with your teachers before submitting the forms.
     * Multiple entries not permitted 

1. ​Whether it meets all the requirements
2. Felicity of the usage of Japanese words
3. Whether the choice of the topic attracts audiences

​     The Embassy will contact directly to the successful applicants by ​mid-November.
