Okinawa Cultural Exchange

     Embassy of Japan in Timor-Leste organized a reception on May 16th to introduce the beauty of "Bin-Gata" traditional dying art and technique in Okinawa, Japan, Government officials, the diplomatic corps, and former Timorese students who studied in Japan were invited to experience Okinawa Culture.

     During the reception, Mr. Eiichi Shiroma who is the 16th master of Whiroma "Bin-Gata" family in Okinawa made a presentation on how "Bin-Gata" is made and designed.

     Invitees were also served with Okinawan Cuisine while enjoying the mini concert by Ms. Tazuko Miyara, a soprano singer from Okinawa.
