The Embassy of Japan in Timor-Leste participated in the Celebration of International Women’s Day organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Secretariat of State for Gender Equality and Social Inclusion on Thursday, March 8th, 2018 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation’s yard.
At the Embassy of Japan stall, we provided “Nigirizushi” and “Sake”. Many visitors enjoyed tasting them, with the Spouse of the President of the Republic, Madam Cidalia Nobre Guterres being one of prominent visitors to our Embassy’s stall. We also presented a booklet of “WAW!2017” (World Assembly for Women), which was held in November 2017 in Tokyo, and introduced the Government of Japan’s initiative for women’s empowerment.
On the stage, we have two musical performances “Sakura, Saruka” (cherry blossoms) and “Hana wa Saku” (flowers will bloom), a song to support the victims of 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
