Japan's Assistance to Timor-Leste

 

 

Inauguration ceremony of

“The Project for Renovation of Junior High School in Bazartete, Liquisa District”

 

January, 11th 2013

 

1. On 11 January, 2013, the Government of Japan and Rafaela East Timor Fund (RETF), the national NGO jointly held an inauguration ceremony of “The Project for Renovation of Junior High School in Bazartete, Liquisa District” in Fatumasi Village, Bazartete Sub-district, Liquisa District. The ceremony was attended by H. E. Mr. Joao Amaral, Chief of Cabinet for Vice Minister of Education for Basic School, Mr. Augusto Pereira de Araujo, Sub district Administrator of Bazartete, Mr. Satoshi Nakajima, Charge d’Affaires, a.i. of Japan and many other guests and the people of the community.

 

2. The Government of Japan provided US$109,789 for the project under the Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP). With this grant, RETF has built a new school building that provides a much better learning environment for junior high school students in Fatumasi Village.
